The Netflix Original series, written by Francesco Ebbasta, celebrates friendship and love between thirty-year-olds. Here’s the plot, cast and when it comes out.
Before Facebook, Fiber and 5G, there was him, the legendary 56K modem, with its iconic, distorted but wonderful sound. Those who were born just before the digital revolution and lived through the advent of the web certainly remember it.
The new series Generazione 56K wants to celebrate that historical moment, when in the homes of Italians the first computers made their way and young people – and not only – had the opportunity to surf online, chat, download music and live in a world that seemed enchanted and full of opportunities. Generation 56K will arrive on Netflix in July 2021 and winks at the Millennials, who grew up with walkmans instead of Spotify and with ringing instead of messages on WhatsApp. The series is created by Francesco Ebbasta, who also scripted it along with Costanza Durante, Laura Grimaldi and Davide Orsini. In the main cast also stand out two members of the group The Jackal, namely Gianluca Fru and Fabio Balsamo.
Tv series Generation 56K: the plot
The Netflix Original TV series is produced by Cattleya in collaboration with the group Ciaopeople of The Jackal. It is divided into 8 episodes and tells the story of Daniel and Matilda. The friendship between the two begins when they are children and gradually evolves. They grow up and with their friends are representatives of an entire generation, that of the 56K modem, which has seen the Internet born and develop until today.
As adults they fall in love and their relationship comes to revolutionize their world. They will have to rediscover their “being children” and it is also for this reason that the series is characterized by numerous nostalgic memories and temporal jumps, which bring back to the childhood of the two. The plot unfolds from the beginning of the nineties to the present day and also tells how the world has evolved in about 30 years.
