Call of Duty 2020 will be presented with a special event on Warzone

Call of Duty: Black Ops CIA could be presented by Activision directly on Warzone, with an ad-hoc event that would attract millions of players

In comparison to the past years, the announcement of the new Call of Duty is significantly delayed. Usually Activision used E3 in Los Angeles to at least show the first official trailer and announce the name of the game, but the 2020 edition was cancelled due to Covid-19. This year none of that, what we know is only thanks to several leaks from data miners who have unearthed traces of Call of Duty 2020 on the web. The name of the title should be Call of Duty: Black Ops CIA and be set during the Cold War period.

The latest news concerns the way in which Activision is planning to announce the new Call of Duty 2020. No “physical” presentation, but an online event hosted on Call of Duty: Modern Warfare on Call of Duty: Warzone. The software house would be thinking about a sort of crossover event hosted by its last two titles that have been very successful in sales and downloads. It’s not yet clear how the presentation could take place, but surely the developers must be thinking of something really innovative.

Call of Duty: Black OPS CIA, presentation on Warzone

Season 5 of Call of Duty: Warzone and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is about to arrive: if the timing is met, the start is set for August 5, 2020. And among the novelties of the new season, in addition to some changes in the map and some new weapons, there could also be a new operator: Sergeant Frank Woods, who fans know very well for his role in the Black Ops series. This could be another hint that the new Call of Duty is part of the Black Ops saga and that it could be announced on Warzone.

With the start of Season 5, the Call of Duty: Warzone stadium should be open and become a war zone, so why not use a big screen to present the game? This is just an idea, but one that could be used by Activision in the future. A bit like Fortnite did with the event dedicated to Travis Scott before, and the inauguration of the Royal Party mode after.
