Apple continues its fight against AIDS by introducing the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus (PRODUCT)RED Special Edition. For several years now, the Cupertino-based company has been launching an all red version of its devices and accessories, with a portion of the proceeds being donated to the Global Fund to Fight AIDS and HIV.
In addition to the total red version of the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus, a leather Folio case (PRODUCT)RED for the iPhone X has also been unveiled and can be ordered directly from the Apple Store. Da oramai molti anni l’azienda di Cupertino porta vanti una campagna per raccogliere soldi da devolvere al Fondo Globale che combatte l’AIDS e l’HIV. Il colore rosso scelto per i prodotti (PRODUCT)RED non è casuale, essendo proprio il sangue il vettore che trasmette la malattia. For every (PRODUCT)RED device and accessory purchased by users, a portion of the proceeds is donated to the Global Fund: since 2006, Apple has raised a total of $160 million, which equates to more than 800 million days of life-saving antiretroviral drugs that prevent the transmission of HIV from mothers to their children.
What are Apple’s (PRODUCT)RED products
In addition to the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus (PRODUCT) RED, other total red devices and accessories are available on Apple’s website. iPhone X users can purchase a leather Folio case costing 109 euros that will be available from April 10. The same leather cases have also been made for the iPhone 7, iPhone 7 Plus, iPhone 6s, iPhone 6s Plus and iPhone SE. Also available in the (PRODUCT)RED version are the Beats Solo3 Wireless headphones and the Beats Pill+ portable speaker, as well as straps for the Apple Watch.
Availability and Price iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus (PRODUCT RED)
The smartphones can be ordered from April 10 but will be available from April 13. Prices start at 839 euros for the 64GB version of the iPhone 8 (PRODUCT)RED and go up to 1119 euros for the 256GB iPhone 8 Plus (PRODUCT)RED.
