IPhone Xr 2 is revealed: how it will be the low-cost smartphone Apple

According to the Japanese leaker Mac Otakara, the next iPhone Xr 2 will inherit several features from the iPhone Xs and iPhone Xs Max

New rumors about the Apple iPhone Xr 2, name absolutely still to be confirmed for the second version of the iPhone Xr.

According to the well-known, and usually reliable, Japanese blog Mac Otakara, an update of the Xr will arrive soon that will bring interesting new features, some of which are inherited from the iPhone Xs and Xs Max. However, such rumors come up against a big doubt: if the iPhone Xr2 will really be such a good smartphone, compared to the price it should have, who will ever buy future high-end iPhone XIs? No small doubt, since other rumors speak of a very likely price increase, compared to current levels, for the top of the range that will be presented during 2019.

How will the iPhone Xr 2

Already today the Xr is a good compromise between price (for an iPhone, of course), technical features and performance. The future iPhone Xr2 will be even better thanks to the dual rear camera: to the main camera, in fact, Apple should add a second one with telephoto lens similar to the one already seen on the iPhone XS and XS Max. The design of the rear camera group, then, should be similar if not identical to that of the older brothers: two lenses placed vertically, with the LED flash in the middle. Also according to Mac Otakara, the next version of the iPhone Xr will also have 18-watt fast charging, with a USB-C to Lightning adapter. There should not be, however, wireless charging nor the third rear camera that, in practice, would become the hallmark of the future generation iPhone XI.

iPhone XR2 or iPhone SE X?

The rumors spun by Mac Otakara come up against two major doubts and, therefore, should be taken with due caution. The first doubt is the aforementioned risk of cannibalizing the market to the iPhone XI (or iPhone 11, if you prefer). The second doubt comes instead from a previous rumor that Apple is already building in India a new version of the iPhone SE, which will be called iPhone SE X or SE 2. This smartphone would, again, be a successor to the XR from which it would inherit many features. It is clear, however, that two such similar mid-range smartphones cannot both find space in the range of one manufacturer.
