Sound Table, the smart table that connects to the Internet

It’s called Sound Table and it will create the right atmosphere at each of your dinner parties. It also has a 3G connection and a USB port, in addition to Bluetooth 4.0

Nothing creates a nice atmosphere during a dinner, with your partner or friends, like good music in the background. Now you can play it directly from your table. Thanks to Sound Table, being launched on Kickstarter, and made by the startup Kamarq.

The table where we dine will work as a real speaker. But that’s not all. Sound Table is a smart object that will also allow to recharge, thanks to USB connection, our electronic devices, such as tablets and smartphones, and will offer an Internet service to diners. Sound Table is already on sale in Japan, after a crowdfunding initiative carried out on a Japanese site. Now it can also be purchased in the rest of the world thanks to the Kickstarter portal.

How does Sound Table work

The smart table uses two speakers to play music, inserted in the lower part of the table. The designers have ensured that the musical vibrations will not shake objects on the table. The table also features Bluetooth 4.0 connection and 3G Internet connection. Through an associated smartphone app, users will be able to decide which playlists to play and receive live weather updates. Sound Table has 10 ambient sounds set by default that can be played to create a light background to one’s dinner. The table is made of oak and mahogany wood.

Price

Sound Table is launching on Kickstarter and you will be able to choose two different models of the smart table. They vary only in size and not in the functionality available to the user. The smaller table costs about 450 euros while the larger version has a higher price, and exceeds 700 euros. Shipments, once the goal is reached, will start next June.
