Facebook Messenger, in video chats you can play multiplayer games

Taking advantage of augmented reality filters, Facebook Messenger has added the possibility for users to play during video calls

New feature for users who habitually use Facebook Messenger: during video calls you will be able to challenge your friends in nice video games using augmented reality. The craze for AR filters has now infected all social networks and messaging applications, but this is the first time that they are used in video games.

On Facebook Messenger you can already challenge your friends to exciting challenges in Snake and other titles within the “game room” of the messaging application, but this new feature will make it much more fun. The feature has been added within the group video calls: it will be possible to play challenging up to four friends at the same time and the results will be shown directly within the conversation.

How to play in Facebook Messenger video chats

For the moment, there are only two augmented reality games supported by video calls: Don’t Smile and Asteroids Attack, but Facebook has assured that more will be added in the coming days. To be able to start the challenges with your friends you need to enter one of the existing conversations with your friends (or you can create a new one), press the video call icon in the upper right corner and select one of the available AR games. People in the group chat will be notified and invited to play.

This new mode will make group chats even more social and fun: ready to make fun of your friend who can never win?
