South Korean company unveils a new clamshell phone with top features in China: Snapdragon 821, 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of internal memory
While waiting to know the appearance and features of the Galaxy Note 8, the next top of the line that Samsung will launch in a few weeks in New York, the South Korean company introduces a new smartphone to the market: the Samsung SM-G9298, a clamshell device with a physical keyboard.
The Asian company officially announced the new mobile device, called Leader 8. It is a cell phone that partly recalls some of the sold cell phone models of the past. In addition to the shape, also because of the keyboard. The smartphone, however, is equipped with many interesting features, present on some of the latest devices. The two displays stand out above all. The Leader 8 mounts, in fact, an external Full HD Super AMOLED screen of 4.2 inches. The internal display also has the same technical specifications as the secondary one.
Snapdragon 821 and 4 GB of RAM
The Samsung SM-G9298 is also noteworthy in terms of the processor. The South Korean company has chosen to focus on Qualcomm’s SoC: the Snapdragon 821. That it is a high-performance cell phone is also demonstrated by the 4GB RAM and the 64GB internal memory, expandable via microSD. Samsung’s new phone is dual -sim: the second slot, however, is shared with the microSD card.
Fingerprint reader and 12 MP camera
Let’s move now to the back, starting to talk about the photo compartment. The smartphone integrates a 12-megapixel sensor, capable of shooting Ultra HD video. Accompanying the camera is the LED flash. The Samsung SM-G9298 does not even lack the fingerprint reader, located just below the camera. On the front side, however, there is a 5 MP sensor. It comes with a 2300 mAh battery, supports wireless charging and LTE connection.
Will it arrive in Italy?
Samsung’s smartphone was presented in China and there is no information if it will ever arrive on “Western” shelves as well. It is likely, in fact, that the phone will land only in other Asian markets. No news, at the moment, even with regard to the price.
