The iPhone 11 has been available for no more than two months and there is already talk of its successor. Which should surpass it in everything: the iPhone 12 will come out in four versions
Those who want to buy an iPhone 12 in 2020 will be spoiled for choice: the available models, in fact, will be four and will all be equipped with OLED screen, including the “low cost” version. But, in fact, the iPhones that will be released next year will be five, not four.
This is what the famous investment bank JP Morgan announced in a note to investors, and it is great news for Apple fans since, for the first time in recent years, even the least expensive device will have an OLED screen and no longer LCD. There will be no shortage of differences between the four devices, however, either on the display size front or in terms of performance and additional features. According to JP Morgan, the screen sizes of the four iPhone 12s will be three: one 5.4-inch, two 6.1-inch and the top-of-the-line 6.7-inch. So there will be a high-end 6.1-inch iPhone and one of the same diagonal but mid-range.
iPhone 12: the two high-end models
The top of the line iPhone 12 series will be two: one with a 6.1-inch screen and one with a 6.7-inch screen. They will most likely have a triple camera module at the rear and a laser to improve the effectiveness of the zoom. It will also serve to prevent a framed subject from being cut out of the final image due to software cropping after the shot. In fact, abundant use of artificial intelligence in the camera app is planned.
iPhone 12: the two mid- to low-end models
The other two iPhone 12 models will have 6.1- and 5.4-inch screens, both OLED. They will feature two, not three, rear cameras and, like the high-end models, will support 5G. But they won’t support 5G mmWave, being compatible only with Sub-6 GHz frequencies. Millimeter waves, in fact, will only be usable by Pro models.
iPhone SE 2020: coming in March
Finally, JP Morgan is talking to its investors about a fifth iPhone model coming out in 2020: the new version of the iPhone SE, which has been talked about so much in recent months. It should come out before the four iPhone 12s, supposedly in March 2020, and thus will not belong to the 12 series. Like its predecessor, in fact, the new iPhone SE will most likely be a mix of previous technologies and will almost certainly have an LCD screen.
