This week there are many news on Digital Terrestrial in different regions: here is what changes Region by Region.
The ballet of channels continues, both TV and radio, on the digital terrestrial platform in view of the switch off that will begin in September and will end in early summer 2022. This time it is mainly about changes on regional or interregional MUXes (here we explain what a MUX is).
In recent months, changes to the names and logos of broadcasters, LCN numbering and transmission of channels within the MUXes are almost daily. This is due to the fact that several MUXs are being “scrapped” in order to free up radio frequencies and return them to the State (which, in some cases, has already assigned the same frequencies for other purposes, including 5G). Last week, then, there was an important news also from the point of view of content: the station Davvero TV was replaced in all MUXs by Byoblu, the new television of Claudio Messora, former youtuber with half a million fans then banned by Google (as we told you here).
DVB: what’s new in Lombardy
In the MUX Videostar B, which broadcasts in Lombardy, at LCN 271 and 633 (in duplicate) broadcasts Radio Roma TV. Until a few days ago Radio Roma TV was broadcasting with the identifier CanaleZero, while now the identifier has been updated to Radio Roma.
The same broadcaster is also broadcasting from the MUX Sol Regina Po, also in Lombardy, at LCN 115. There are therefore three channels on Lombardy’s digital terrestrial network broadcasting the same station with the same programming. In the same MUX, the broadcaster Love in Venice is back, while Tele Stella (LCN 813) has disappeared.
DVB: what’s new in Lazio
There are also several movements in the Lazio MUXes, with Radio Musica (despite its name, it is a TV broadcaster, not just a DAB radio) arriving at LCN number 698 of the Telepontina MUX.
The channels Epiqa (which however continues to broadcast from the MUX Retecapri), Giornale Radio TV (LCN 262) and the two Supernova duplicates that were visible at numbers 292 and 298 (but the station remains visible at number 14) are disappearing. Finally, the broadcaster Teletuscolo is no longer broadcasting at LCN 114.
DVB: what’s new in Liguria
The changes in Liguria concern radio channels. Six new broadcasters have been included in the CR DAB MUX: Radio Aldebaran, Radio Beckwith, Radio City4You, Radio 80, Radio Margherita and Radio Onda d’urto.
DVB: what’s new in Abruzzo
In the ITR MUX, in Abruzzo, broadcaster TRSP has made the technical leap by abandoning the old MPEG 2 codec in favor of MPEG 4 H.264, but continues to broadcast in standard resolution and not in HD. In practice this means that it is now tunable only with a new generation decoder or TV (here a guide on how to choose it).
