IPhone XI 2019, first prototypes confirm the design

Although the launch is still a few months away, rumors about the iPhone XI 2019 are becoming more and more insistent. From Japan come the first prototypes

New confirmations, coming this time from Japan, on how will be the iPhone XI (or iPhone 11, if you prefer): after the photos of the molds of the alleged iPhone 2019, published on the Chinese social network Weibo, now come photos and videos of 3D printed models of how should be the future smartphones from Apple. Photos and videos published by the Japanese blog Mac Otakara, which bought them on Alibaba.

Also in this case these are not official reconstructions and what we see may not be the real design of the 2019 iPhones. The three-dimensional reconstruction shown by Mac Otakara, in fact, is based on the latest rumors about the design of the new iPhones. Indiscretions coming from authoritative sources, but indiscretions nonetheless. The interesting thing, however, is that despite coming from a completely different source these new 3D models of the iPhone 2019 are virtually identical to those seen in recent days. The hypothesis that circulates these days is that these are in both cases models intended for manufacturers of covers, protective films and accessories, which need a “physical mold” on which to model the products that soon will have to build en masse.

How will be the iPhone 2019

Also from this latest leak emerges the design with three rear cameras enclosed in the square bumper, confirmed both for the model with 6.5-inch OLED screen that for the one with 6.1-inch screen. Both these models show a large and wide central notch at the top of the display, encompassing sensors and front-facing camera. Compared to the current iPhone XS, the upcoming 6.1-inch model is slightly less compact: 0.4 millimeters wider and 0.2 millimeters thicker, which could be due to a slightly larger battery and PowerShare functionality. We assume that the useful screen space of the final model is very similar to that of the XS. A few millimeters less, however, the model measures compared to the current iPhone XR. According to Mac Otakara, this is due to the difference in display technology: from liquid crystal to OLED. The 6.5-inch model, on the other hand, placed side by side with the current iPhone XS Max turns out to be 0.4 millimeters thicker. Again, this could be due to a larger battery and Wireless PowerShare. According to these mock-ups, then, there won’t be any major differences between the old iPhone X and the new iPhone XI in terms of size and form factor.
