How to post to Instagram from PC

Instagram is moving even closer to the world of creators by giving you a way to publish and schedule posts directly from your PC. What it takes and how to do it

Probably, it was the biggest limitation today for influencers and public figures on Instagram. These days, however, the social-photographic network owned by Mark Zuckerberg is about to further expand the list of features available to users, giving the ability to create new posts directly from PC.

Until now, to publish on Instagram a photo taken with SLR and edited with Photoshop or other computer software you could follow two paths. Upload the image to the cloud and then access the space on the cloud from your phone; use social management platforms like Hootsuite or Buffer (for a fee). In a few weeks, however, everyone will be able to post on Instagram from a PC for free thanks to Creator Studio.

What is and what is Creator Studio

As mentioned, to create posts on Instagram from a PC you need to use Creator Studio, a free tool that, as its name suggests, is aimed at the world of so-called creators. Until now, Creator Studio could only be used to manage Facebook pages; with the update being distributed, however, users (or social media managers) will also be able to manage Instagram profiles. But what does Creator Studio allow you to do? First of all, publish, schedule and manage posts on the company page or personal profile. By synchronizing Instagram with Creator Studio, you can publish content directly from your PC, using the images on your computer’s hard drive or using posts already on a linked Facebook Page.

How to publish to Instagram from your PC

To be able to publish to Instagram from your computer, you must first have a corporate Instagram or Creator account and link it to a Facebook Page that you manage. At this point you’ll have to access Creator Studio and, by clicking on the Instagram icon in the top bar, start the process of synchronizing your Instagram account. Once this is done, you can manage your Instagram audience and create (and schedule, perhaps an even more useful feature for those who use Instagram for professional purposes) new posts directly from your PC.
