Apple calls fans and journalists to the call: new online event for April 20 and already everyone tries to imagine what will be presented.
Now it’s official: a date has been chosen for what will be the spring event of Apple. The day to mark on the calendar is April 20, when many hope to finally see the long-awaited new iPad Pro models, along with other devices, before the 2021 edition of WWDC to be held in June.
To give the announcement of what has been called, in a rather sibylline way, “Spring Loaded”, was the Cupertino company itself that, for the occasion, wanted to play on the double meaning of the word “spring” (which, in English, can indicate both spring and spring), stylized symbol also present in the presentation graphics for the press that from colorful spiral turns into the famous bitten apple under the eyes of the viewers. Another clue, potentially in front of everyone’s eyes, was launched just yesterday by Siri. Solicited by some Reuters reporters, as reported by the same newspaper, on the possible planning of presentation events in April, Apple’s voice assistant would have pitted light-heartedly the fateful date, referring to the official website for the information of the case.
Apple event, iPad Pro and more?
The flagship product that fans hope to see in the event next week is undoubtedly the new iPad Pro.
In particular, the interest concerns the upgrade that should involve the 12.9-inch models, with a transition from the old LCD displays to panels made with Mini-LED, brighter and with sharper images than in the past.
Another novelty, then, could concern the hardware side: many expect a renewed SoC, perhaps with the A14X Bionic processor produced by Apple. Finally, there is the photo/video compartment of the device, probably updated with a better performing photo module than what was integrated in previous versions.
That’s not all, though: waiting to see the updated version of the iOS operating system, a moment usually integrated in the summer conference dedicated to developers, Apple could also decide to pull out of the hat the AirTags, i.e. the mini trackers to be applied to objects to monitor their position of which much has been said but little has been seen of concrete, apart from a few lines of code in the latest beta releases of the mobile operating system of Cupertino.
Last but not least is the new iMac. After the 2020 update of its desktop model, which has undergone a good restyle of the technical compartment, Apple could play the card of the upcoming event to show some interesting news also from the point of view of the design of its biggest devices.
Apple event, how to follow it
As confirmed by the invitation for journalists, the appointment with Spring Loaded is for next Thursday, April 20, in streaming. Starting from 10 a.m. local time (7 p.m. in Italy), the event organized inside the Apple campus in Cupertino can be followed by connecting to the company’s website.
