How to use Gmail in an alternative way

Gmail also has some secondary and hidden functions that not everyone knows or knows how to use and that allow you to take full advantage of the e-mail service

Many of you will have happened to have used Gmail e-mail services. At work, for study or at home. The service offered by Google, however, also has some hidden and secondary functions that not everyone knows. Let’s see what actions we can perform on Gmail in addition to simply sending emails.

The drafts, in email services are useful to save those messages not yet sent. It could be our choice, or you turned off the computer before sending and the conversation was saved in this special folder. Drafts, unlike the trashed messages or spam folder are never deleted from our account and remain there forever. Unless we decide to delete them ourselves. For this reason the Gmail drafts folder can be used as a space to write and store notes or to create lists of things to do or buy. A sort of reminder that is always just a click away.

Save to Cloud

One of the very useful features of Gmail is that it allows you to automatically save large work folders and heavy files directly to the cloud. Attachments received on our account can also be directly stored on various services such as Dropbox, Google Drive or Microsoft One Drive. And also on various other cloud services. This is a way to save heavy and important documents and have them available at any time and on any device without having to resort to specific applications.

Update Social

In Gmail, as well as in most email services on the Net, you can update your social accounts with posts after sending or opening an email. This setting can be used occasionally or set as the default. For example, once we reply to the recipient via email, our Twitter or Facebook profile will be updated.

Making a private album

On Gmail it’s easy to set up multiple accounts to create a collection of private photos to share only with certain people. This could be a good technique to share photos of our child or an important event in our life with a small circle of family and friends. It is a safer and less invasive technique than creating a photo album within a social network.

Keep a diary

Gmail is certainly not the most advanced email service for writing support but there are some functions that help us a lot when typing. On Google’s service there is text control with a small part dedicated to editing, you can add photos to the text and the service is accessible from multiple devices (PC, Android smartphone or iPhone). Therefore, the service could also be used to keep a diary of our days, including photos and labels.
