Tired of making the bed? The smartphone takes care of it. Photo and video

An air pump and an inflatable sheet allow the bed to tidy itself. Scheduled to launch in May 2017

Replacing the bed is undoubtedly one of the most hated morning tasks. Tidying up sheets and blankets requires an effort, more mental than physical, that so many people find tedious to put into practice. If you’re also part of the club, check out this latest innovation.

A Canadian startup has launched a campaign on Kickstarter, one of the most widely used crowdfunding sites, to promote the first bed that tidies itself. The heart of the mechanism is represented by an air pump connected to a kind of inflatable sheet placed between the bed sheets and blankets. The device starts up thanks to the special application that the startup makes available to users: it will be enough to click a button and the intelligent system will begin to tidy up the bed. And if you want, always through the app, you can start the device at a certain time, setting a timer.

How to make the bed in seconds with your smartphone

Smart Duvet, this is the name that the startup has chosen for the device, consists of a plastic air pump and a sheet in the shape of a grid. The sheet, made of a lightweight and durable material, also allows for air circulation and prevents heat buildup over the course of the night.

Once the mechanism is started via the app, the smart sheet inflates and will drag the sheets and comforter attached to it into place. If all goes as planned, SMARTDUVET will go on sale starting in May 2017 at a price of $379.
