Facebook tests a secondary wall on smartphones

Explained the meaning of the new rocket-shaped icon recently present on Facebook: it indicates a personal wall created from our interests

Facebook and its Stories have conditioned the attention of users of the social in recent days. Although some of the most attentive users have noticed a new rocket-shaped icon that can be found both at the top and bottom of News Feed. And it’s present on both iOS and Android. What is the purpose of the new icon?

The rocket icon is the latest attempt designed by Facebook to propose an alternative bulletin board to its smartphone users where all those posts, videos, photos and news considered as most important and that we have not yet read will be conveyed. Obviously the various posts present will depend on our interests and what we look at most carefully within the social. Especially based on the pages we like and follow. But there will also be content popular among our friends and, especially for the videos, those most viewed in the last period on the Net.

Personalized bulletin board on Facebook

This is not an absolute novelty, Facebook had already recently tested the secondary bulletin board, but the icon used in that case was different (a small square). Also, the feature was limited only to users using the Android beta application. In this case, however, the rocket-shaped icon is present on both iOS and Android. Facebook in this way wants to create a more useful bulletin board for the user. The classic bulletin board can bore the user in some cases, because they may not like what their friends or pages are posting. In this way, however, it will be the user’s own interests to generate the bulletin board, which will consequently be more interesting. It should be remembered that in 2012, always in this direction, Facebook had added the “Interests” function but had not had great success. Same failure for the Rooms mobile app. That has never generated much interest. Now this new function could be a turning point because it touches the most intimate interests of a person.
