Twitter, audio live notes arrive

Twitter tries to relaunch itself by focusing on live audio notes. The goal is to further enrich the information offer present on the platform

New feature coming for Twitter users. No, it’s not the ability to edit tweets, repeatedly requested by users and always postponed to a later date, but the introduction of live audio.

The microblogging platform therefore tries to renew itself by presenting a feature that, in fact, does not exist on any other social network. A further attempt to differentiate itself from the competition, in the hope that it will serve to revive the site’s fortunes. For years, now, Twitter has ended up in a sort of limbo: although the budget figures have improved, the number of users remains stable and advertising is struggling to take off. The card of live audio broadcasts, which could transform Twitter into a sort of platform for web radios or a collector of podcasts (and other audio content of this kind) must therefore be seen from the perspective of an attempt to relaunch Twitter. To see if this move will bear fruit, however, we must wait a few weeks.

How Twitter audio notes work

At the moment the new feature is available on Twitter and Periscope only for iOS devices. Although from Twitter they let it be known that soon the same feature for audio live streams will also arrive on Android. Using it is very simple: just open the Twitter app, click on the quill-shaped icon to create a new tweet and then on the heading Live to start recording. If in our iPhone we do not see the new Twitter feature for audio live broadcasts, it is likely that we have not updated the application. In this case we go to the App Store and on the page dedicated to Twitter click on the word update. Once the process is completed we will have on our account the new option to share podcasts or audio interviews with our Twitter followers.
