Amazon launches Amazon Echo Look, a camera that helps people choose the right match by leveraging Alexa’s artificial intelligence
Dressing impeccably in the morning isn’t always easy. The sleep, the little desire to iron your clothes and the change of season. The risk of going to work dressed in an unsuitable way is high. To avoid this, however, from today you can use the built-in camera on Amazon Echo that will tell us how to dress.
On the new Echo Look developers have included a camera integrated with artificial intelligence Alexa. The assistant after taking photos and videos of us will be able to tell us if we are dressed fashionably or not and recommend new pairings. Obviously with time will save all our wardrobe and will always know how to propose valid alternatives. Activating the service is easy. Just use voice commands. If we say “Alexa take a picture” or “Alexa make a video” the personal assistant will save images of us and the clothes in order to create a personal book of our wardrobe.
A stylist at your fingertips
Amazon Echo Look has some very interesting features: it can take pictures and leave the objects in the background blurred to give greater prominence to our clothes. Amazon is also about to launch the Style Check feature that combines machine learning with a team of fashion experts to help users decide between two different looks and figure out which one is better. This is a similar feature to Outfit Compare, which is already available to Amazon Prime users. The real difference is the machine learning that is missing in the current service. All of our wardrobe photos are saved in the AWS cloud storage service, and we’ll be the ones who have to manually delete them. This is yet another step forward by Amazon in the field of fashion, it is no secret the goal of the company that already in 2016 had declared: “One of our future goals is to become the number one platform in the world for customers in the field of clothing”. Amazon in recent months has launched 10 new clothing brands, including a series of low-cost bras and a brand for sportswear. For those interested, Echo Look is available on Amazon for just under two hundred dollars.
