Black Shark 2 is the gaming smartphone from Xiaomi: it mounts a Snapdragon 855 processor with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of internal memory. Available in China
Powerful, fast and with a unique design. These are the characteristics of the Xiaomi Black Shark 2, the new version of the gaming smartphone from the Chinese company. After the good success of the first model, Black Shark (it is a real brand, with its own unit under Xiaomi) has decided to replicate the experiment and launched a new model with higher performance and a more refined design.
The Black Shark 2, like all smartphones dedicated to gaming, has a technical card from top of the range and ad hoc features that are activated once you start a game. Thanks to the Ludicrous game mode you can push the CPU performance to the maximum to avoid lag problems with heavy applications. In addition, the new liquid cooling system allows you to lower the temperature by 14 degrees and not have problems with overheating the device. The Xiaomi Black Shark 2 is already available for purchase in China at a price just over 400 euros. It may soon arrive in Italy too, but there is no date yet.
Technical data sheet Black Shark 2
The Black Shark 2 mounts the best hardware components on the market, especially with regard to processor and RAM. On board we find the Snapdragon 855 chipset with 6/8/12GB of RAM and with 128/256GB of non-expandable internal memory. A total of four versions of the smartphone are available: the first has 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, the second 8/128, while the third and fourth have as much as 256GB of internal storage supported by 8GB of RAM and 12GB of RAM respectively.
The screen is 6.39 inches with a resolution of 2340 x 1080 pixels. The design is linear, without the presence of the notch or holes on the screen: the top and bottom bezels are symmetrical and cover the entire horizontal space. The photographic compartment is certainly not the main feature of the device: in the back we find a dual 12 Megapixel sensor, while in the front a 20 Megapixel camera.
The battery is 4000mAh and supports fast charging up to 27W. There is no NFC technology, which is useful for making payments with the smartphone. There is support for Band 20, which is essential for the Italian market for LTE connection.
The special modes of the Black Shark 2
Like all gaming smartphones, the Black Shark 2 has special features that are activated when you launch a video game. Xiaomi has developed the Ludicrous game mode that boosts CPU performance to ensure maximum fluidity while you’re playing. When you activate Ludicrous, the liquid cooling system also comes into play, which doesn’t raise the temperature of the most delicate internal components. The Chinese company has also developed a system called Magic Press that allows you to set different pressure areas on the screen depending on the application you are using.
