Already in the 28 days after its debut on the streaming platform, which took place worldwide on September 17, 2021, the nine episodes written and directed by South Korean Hwang Dong-hyuk had reached 111 million views.

The main character Seong Gi-hun agrees to participate in a game to win a large sum of money. The man finds himself in a secret location along with 455 other people, like him in financial difficulties, under the surveillance of guards dressed in red. Soon it turns out that the contestants who fail the challenges are killed, and with each death the final prize pool grows. As the director recently confirmed, there will be a second season of Squid Game, the release date of which is still unknown. The King: Eternal Monarch

The King: Eternal Monarch TV series, airing in South Korea in 2020, will thrill lovers of the fantasy genre. The main character is Lee Gon, emperor of a modern kingdom in Korea, who uses a magical portal that connects parallel worlds to access a reality in which Korea is a republic.

Here he meets police inspector Jung Tae-eul. The king intends to take possession of the portal, while the detective will try to thwart him. The story unfolds in 16 episodes of 60-80 minutes each, currently available on Netflix with Italian subtitles.

Crash Landing on You

Crash Landing on You is the title of the k-drama that tells the love story between Yun Se-ri, a wealthy fashion businesswoman living in South Korea, and Ri Jeong-hyeok, a North Korean army officer. The two get to know each other when the woman, caught in bad weather during a paragliding trip, manages to make a crash landing beyond the national borders, in North Korean territory. Here she is rescued by the military man, who protects her and falls in love with her.

The TV series, which aired in South Korea in 2020, has received positive reviews: it is one of the most watched TV products ever in the country and includes in its cast two of the most famous Korean actors of the moment, namely Hyun Bin and Son Ye-jin. The 16 episodes have been dubbed in Italian and are available on Netflix.

Something in the Rain

Lovers of simple and romantic stories will find what they are looking for in Something in the Rain. This South Korean TV series tells the story of Yoon Jin Ah, a 30-year-old woman who works in a bar and is not fully satisfied with her life.

One day she meets Joon-Hee again, the younger brother of a close friend who has returned to Korea after living abroad for several years. A friendship is born between the two that, with time, turns into love. The 16 episodes dubbed in Italian are available on Netflix.
