Any computer will do since you will be using GNU/Linux for the most part and it is very, very light.
In my experience I recommend starting with a bad PC since it limits you a lot and motivates you to overcome those limits but that's just personal advice.
If you don't have a lot of money buy whatever it is which doesn't really matter but if you have some money just make sure it has a good processor since the graphics don't matter if you're not going to play.
