Complete independence from cables. For example, when I'm on the phone, I can't avoid pacing around the room. With the AirPods, I can leave my iPhone plugged into the charger and have a quiet conversation. The range of the Bluetooth connection is very good. I must confess that when I talk I tend to spit and if I don't use the AirPods the phone is terrible. The battery life is excellent, it warns when it is running out of charge and when this happens, they recharge very quickly by placing them in the case. They are very, very comfortable and don't fall out of your ear. In fact, I'd say the only downside is that you can't adjust the volume without using Siri.
