The iPhone 8. My current phone is an iPhone 5s, so I would notice the hardware differences. If I had a 7 or 6s I wouldn't trade it in for another year or two.
The iPhone 8 plus seems overkill to me. It's a shame Apple divides its ranges by various hardware features and not just screen size, because I would have liked to try the plus's dual-lens camera.
And the X is too expensive for my needs and budget. But I find its screen size interesting without making the whole thing too big, and Face ID (though I would have preferred them to keep Touch ID as well).
I just bought the iPhone 8+ (basically because I had the iPhone 7+).
There's nothing wrong with the iPhone X ### I think it's a marketing technique by Apple to let us all know it's still working towards the future. But eventually we're going to get FaceID and very powerful features on the regular models. It's a matter of time.
I wouldn't buy either. I already have the 7 and the 8 is not a substantial improvement. The X doesn't have touchid only faceid which for me is something I definitely don't want.
The iPhone X, the answer is simple.
It's the one that holds its value best because it's the newest and it's the one that represents the generational shift. If you have a chance to buy it, from a user who has had the ones you mention, the iPhone X is the one that best represents what Apple is doing with its software.
