A2A: I don't know much about Acer (I've been using Toshibas for 10 years), but in retail in my country they are common, so I wouldn't say they are an invisible brand.
It seems that the segment they are targeting is corporate users who don't know, or don't have time to do much modding or repairs themselves, so the marketing is different from the mass consumer and maybe that's why they have a lower profile.
I don't buy Acer. All welded, impossible to upgrade. Forget it.
I don't know why, sometimes the good brands that are economical, don't get as much publicity or are mentioned as much as others.
On the one hand it could be, that what they don't spend on advertising, they spend on research and technology.
For example in car audio, there are the well-known brands such as, Sony, Alpine, Jbl, etc.
In contrast the Kenwood brand, is not as mentioned as the previous ones. And of several brands that I have had in my car, both in amplifiers, speakers, radios, etc., for me it has been the one that I have liked the most.
Saludossssss
They are good equipment of standard quality as in any brand you get what you pay for, the high ranges of acer have excellent performance and quality for a fairly competitive price, I imagine that if the shops do not promote them is simply not to detract sales of brands that generate higher profits as HP or Dell.
It's like in components, Asus and Gigabyte eat the cake in latin america, and the high ranges of asrock or ECS do not even appear, although in quality and features they compete head to head with those mentioned many times offering the same or more at a better price.
It had a good time, then the quality went down but not the price.
They brought out a cheap, bad brand.
And I haven't heard from them for years.
I don't know how they are at the moment, but this brand has gone through several ups and downs in the quality of their materials over the years. And the worst thing is that for quite some time (I insist, right now I don't know) their customer service was the worst I've ever encountered in that market.
Then they ask why some brands are more expensive if they are the same... they are not the same. The differences are sometimes not in processors, memory and design, but in the care they put into customer service
They are assemblers. And they sell equipment from low-end to high-end. Comparing each piece of equipment according to its price level, they are in the average price-performance ratio.
