I upgraded from Windows 7 to 10 and it generated a new product key, is this new key useful in case I need to reactivate Windows 10 or should I use the old key?

I did a low level formatting but my laptop still has the virus. After reinstalling the drivers I was able to get on the internet but it is slow and won't let me install an antivirus. what can I do?

I upgraded my old computer from Windows 7 to Windows 10 some time ago and it did not change the key ### likewise several family members and acquaintances have been upgraded from 7 to 10 or from 8.1 to 10 without changing the key.
