rave reports is a component created for delphi by nevrona, which allows you to create forms in runtime. Before fast reports (Embarcadero's own component) it was necessary to use rave reports to generate forms with data linked to the Database, variables, user inputs or data created at run time.
After some time with the popularity of Rave reports Embarcadeiro decided to create its own component to do this work (fast reports), however it is not compatible with all versions of Delphi and cpp, so far this component used due to ease of interaction with it and its backward compatibility.
