Duke, Generally after the installation of Oracle a service is created in Windows, with the name of the instance that you defined in the installation.

To check, open the Windows console and type:

            services.msc

This will open the Microsoft Management Console (MMC) with all the services on your machine. From there, just find and start the Oracle service.
