It takes a long time to upgrade on mechanical hard drives, on SSDs it is very fast.

When upgrading it downloads, copies and updates hundreds of thousands of small files.

Current computers today have a much harder time moving a single 10gb file than 1gb made up of hundreds of thousands of 4kb files.

Mechanical hard drives (hdd) are inherently slow and struggle to handle a large number of small files.

If you replace your hard drive with an SSD you will no longer have any slowness issues when upgrading.
