In practice, nothing. However, Windows in recent updates, has capped the /BOOT/UEFI. It will only see Windows.
To boot Linux you will have to use BIOS booting, as long as you have determined a UEFI boot for the Linux distro. Since the motherboard will give you a choice because it will detect multiple boots (both Win and the Linux distro).
Windows will only see Windows, for that reason, boot from the BIOS the Linux share if you see that GRUB does not run as one would expect.
And you will find that GRUB will only show if from BIOS you run the Linux BOOT.
