How to make a private repository public in GitLab?

I found it on a somewhat different path:

  

Select the desired project> Settings> General> Permissions> Project visibility.

However, since the initial configuration was "private" when changing to "public", an access request is forwarded to each project administrator for any new view of a visiting user.
