WordPress performance in subdir as if it were in the root

0

Friends, good morning. Using these recommendations , my goal was to leave the installation of my WordPress in a subdirectory, however the access is transparent to the user, that is, as if WordPress were in the root (without appearing the URL subdirectory) .

Well, it was successful! But the administrators of the server where hosting said that this configuration causes the site to have a longer loading time because it would be redirecting from root to subdir. I disagree, because in practice I'm not doing any redirects.

But I would like the opinion of colleagues here. Is there really an increase in loading time ?? And if there is, will it be as meaningful as they say?

Summarizing the given site: basically says to copy the index.php and .htacces from the subdir (WordPress) and play in the root of hosting, then make a small change in the index.php copied. In the general settings of WordPress, where is Site Address, leave the URL without the subdir.

Thanks and hugs.
