When creating a contact in android perform a certain action

I created an app that lists all the contacts and sends them to the database, but now I want every time the user creates a new contact, it automatically sends them to the database. I've been looking around and seen that I'm going to use "service", but I do not know how to do it exactly so every time a new contact is added it sends to db. If anyone can help me, thank you.
