I have a project ready in my company where I use pfsense on the edge of the network, the equipment plays the role of Proxy, Firewall, gateway and VPN with SSL certificate, but a third party to come deploying an accurate point-to-point cloud access use this already configured network, and ask us to use pptp or L2tp VPN, I would like to know which one is the safest for my project, considering the company data that will be transferred to the third party environment.

Solutions that use only L2TP are not meant to traffic data over public networks because traffic is not encrypted, the solution becomes more secure and complete when integrated with IPSec. That is, the solution you should look for between the two you listed is L2TP / IPSec, which is layer 2 data tunneling plus layer 3 encryption.
