How to calculate database usage in Microsoft Azure?

0

I'm developing a platform where there are two parts, one administrative and one open to the public. The administrative part will insert users and some other things. Already the user will access and interact with the platform, making some evaluations.

I use LocaWeb at a certain time, for other projects, however, researching it came to Microsoft Azure.

Thinking back to the beginning only in MS SQL database, I researched the plans that Azure has. I did not quite understand the calculations, per hour, requisition ... I was in doubt.

So I would like to know how to calculate the Azure for BD, and what its advantages / differences compared to LocaWeb.

I do not really know the plans of LocaWeb, for a quick search I saw that they offer only SQL Server 2008 is an outdated (3 versions have been released after it and the 2008 version has no more conventional support by Microsoft ).

Plans for SQL Database on Azure are charged per hour, according to the Databases. The amount you pay varies for the setting you want to use.

The most basic plan supports 5 databases with a maximum capacity of 2 GB and 7 days of full backup (can restore for any instant) with an approximate value of $ 0.0155 an hour (or ~ $ 12 per month).

A complete and updated table with the values for the SQL Database can be found here in

I do not know the services of LocaWeb, but with the amount charged in LocaWeb of 75.00 reais I believe that the benefit of hosting your database in Azure is greater, even more now that the Datacenter of Azure in Brazil is now available to the public.
