PHP - opening / closing [closed]

Hello. Can anyone explain to me why the facebook site (and many other sites) do not have php open / close tags? I know they use php.

PHP open and close tags are processed on the server. When you view the source of a page made in PHP through the browser, these tags will never be displayed.
