How to offer free and paid Android app on Google Play?

1

It's my first app and I did not find the answer anywhere.

The app is ready for distribution on Google Play. It has two versions: free (with ads) and paid (without ads).

I created app in Developer Console and started a closed beta test.

I thought I would download both versions (free and paid) and that the store would take care of things to change the version when the user makes the payment.

But the console does not allow you to upload both versions.

So the question: how do I offer app with free and paid versions?

I had figured I would upload both versions to the same APP on the Console and Play would be careful to swap one version for the other when the user made the purchase.

After reading the comments and tweaking a little more, I understood that the free and paid versions (or any variation resulting from more than one APK) are considered two apps distinct, even if the difference is only the presence of banners (in the free version).

So the correct answer is:

To offer free and paid apps on Google Play, you need to create an entry for each and treat each app individually on the console.
