Number of processors in Hyper-V

I have a Windows Server 2003 server virtualized with Hyper-V.

I configured the "logical processor numbers" option to 4.

In Windows, it appears in the device management list 4 CPUs. However in the Windows task manager, only 1 graph appears in the CPU usage history.

The questions are:

  • Are you running with all 4 CPUs or are you running only with 1 CPU?

  • If you are running only with 1, how do I run the 4?

    • Comments:

    • I have another machine like that, and virtualized with VMware and the 4 CPUs appear on the graph.

      • Physically, hardware has only 1 socket, 1 processor with 4 cores and 4 threads.

    This case resolved by restarting the hyper-v server, it had already restarted the virtual machine and had not resolved, but after restarting the hyper-v server it appeared right the 4 cpu
