AngularJS x Angular 2 x Angular 4 [closed]

6

I have observed a small controversy with these terms in the title of the question. Many people have referred to Angular 2 onwards as "AngularJS" which in my point of view is wrong, the correct one would only be "Angular" from version 2 onwards. And I also see people referring to "AngularJS 1.x" as "Angular". Which really puzzled me, and I did the following Google Trends search.

My question is, how has Angle 2 been rewritten and is it a new framework, is there any technical aspect that justifies low adoption or is this Google Trends search only reflecting the confusion of terms?
