Google indexes images with "display: none"

As Google Search uses deep learning in its searches, if you search for a poem, for example, in google images, it will pick up an image that contains the poem (if any).

Many sites, such as Thinker , use this feature to attract visitors. In Pensador.com, the image is visible, but the question is: Putting "display: none" in the image would have the same effect? I want it to appear on Google Images, but not on my rendered page. I thought I'd load the image and set display: none to it. Is there a problem with that? Will it still work the same way?
