How can I reduce the time for creating and burning a Linux image for use in RapsberryPi?

1

I'm going back to a project where I need RapsberryPi, but the last attempt to create an image is to save it in SdFlash, using the DD command, the process took hours to complete, I left and did not count the time but I will do it again this weekend and update this doubt.

It's important to note that I'm using the Mac, so far as I know the commands of Shel, it does not make any difference, and this one in particular has no bug that could lead to this delay.

Another important data, the image used was created with 32GB.

The card is a Kingston SD HC 32GB

What is the brand of your card? The first time I tried to write the Raspberry Pi image (also on a Mac), I used a Kingston card in which I could only write at 300 KB / s. I bought an ADATA Class 10 card, and now I burn at 10 MB / s, which is a much more reasonable speed - the Raspberry Pi image does not occupy the 16 GB, but it would take half an hour to burn the entire card. p>

Here has a sampling of card brands with their speeds.
