I'm using the Azure WebApp PHP service. From the Azure panel I can even change the PHP version.
But you are already in the last one that tells me that it is 5.6. We contracted a scanner service to check for possible vulnerabilities in both the application and the server and the face showed vulnerabilities due to the PHP version.
I've tried to contact Microsoft but it was kind of comical. I have two options, one is to pay the support to respond to this or ask here stack overflow.
I'm very grateful if anyone knows of an alternative to changing the php version other than through the azure panel.
