They asked about this two years ago in the English OS:
And the answer marked as correct said that the light theme has a #EEEEEE background, which is almost white, but is not quite white. Then the answer was edited to include that in newer versions it is #FAFAFA , which is even whiter (and in my opinion easier to pronounce).
