Tomcat on Windows and Linux

I currently have a Tomcat server running on a machine with Windows Server 2012 . But I got some tips from an Infra friends where they say that Tomcat no Linux performs better. Then I had these doubts:

  • What are the pros and cons of using Tomcat on these platforms?
  • Which of the two is the best?

  • The pro of using Windows Server is Microsoft support. The pros of using Linux are Security, Stability, Price (you do not have to pay licenses, and if they are third-party hosting the price is lower too), Performance.

  • As shown in the graphs of the article proposed by colleague Giancarlo Abel Giulian, Linux comes out better overall.
