What is keybase proof? [closed]

1

Recently I've seen some gists with a content called keybase proof Is this some way to prove identity? How does it work?

NOTE: I know that this question may not be considered a theme for the site, but it is something related to github, so I think it is pertinent to be in stackoverflow, since it can fit into the / strong> contained in help center .

Thanks in advance.

And a file from the site link it serves to tell the keybase that you really own the github account.

Keybase looks like a social network, but its users have security keys, which allows you to validate the messages exchanged between them, as well as sign and encrypt messages.
