App removed from playstore for violating section 4.4 of the developer's distribution agreement [closed]

1

Recently I sent an app to playstore and it was working normally since last week. I got thousands of users, it was all a marvel, until today google, without more or less, without me having updated or anything, removed the app from the playstore (it was not suspended, it was removed). Reason? "violation of section 4.4 of the Developer Distribution Agreement"

The app works as follows:

  • User accesses the application with your instagram account
  • User follows people and wins followers

The app itself uses the instagram api for login and nothing else. The follow part is server-side. Anyone have any idea how to proceed? At least what do you do to resend the app?

Thank you

Play Store developer distribution agreement

According to Article 4.4:

Developer undertakes not to engage in any activity with the Store, including the development or distribution of the Products, that interferes with, disturbs, harms or involves inappropriate access devices, servers , networks, or other third-party properties or services , including but not limited to Android users, Google, or any mobile network operator. You may not use customer information obtained through the Store to sell or distribute Products outside of it.

Note the parts that are marked in bold.

What happened

You have used an Instagram API and / or other servers that are considered third-party, and this violates the agreement, as far as I understand. Also, maybe Instagram did not like your idea, but I can not confirm that.

You can try contacting the Android developers and see if they can get you with a Google Play Store manager through IRC and other media listed here: link
