What are the impacts of Google no longer supporting Eclipse? Can I still use the tool to create Android applications?

Yes, you can continue to use it. It basically means that there will be no more updates to the Android Development Tools (ADT) plugin after the end of the year. You will not be able to take advantage of new versions and features.

Until then, you'll be adapting to Android Studio;)

By the end of this year (2015) , Google will maintain Eclipse support.

I would recommend pre-migrating using migration tool from them and believe me, it's not difficult .

The official blog post reported that users who have not yet migrated to Android Studio , this is the time. Developers will have the projects fully compatible with Android Studio ( migration tool ).

"To that end and to focus all of our efforts on making Android Studio   better and faster, we are ending development and official support for   the Android Developer Tools (ADT) in Eclipse at the end of the year.   This specifically includes the Eclipse ADT plugin and Android Ant   build system "
