Create report with nested lists

I would like to know how to create report in Ireport given that the figure in this post has three nested collections.

Where a table has N vigências and a vigência has N faixas .

I would like to know how to do this type of report in Ireport .

Class Persistent only has id of type Long , it will not change at all.

I'm assuming you already have the basics in iReport. You have not put your object models, so I will imagine one according to its description (in fact, you should use the same objects as the domain of your application; some people have a certain difficulty to work this way, and often make a / from of the data before sending a Java object to Jasper to render). I have based on JRBeanCollectionDataSource but it is easily adaptable to other types of DataSources (XML, Connection, ResultSet ...).

Problem solving

As you may know, the best way to "iterate" on a list is through a sub-report. Still without leaving this concept, to have a report / file of easy maintenance and that consequently support evolution, you must imagine your layout in iReport in a modular way and that is cohesive with your business model. Look at the image you described, starting with the Table template:

Again,knowingthatyouarealreadyawarethatthe"detail" band in ireport will repeat for each object in the DataSource (or every object sent to the JasperReport list) I move to the Valid sub-report of the current Table layout:

How is the subreport called?

On the "Palette" tab, select the "Subreport" element, in the "Data Source Expression" property place:
