I manage a virtual store, the site is out of order and when I go to the administrator it gives this error:

Try to clear the var/cache and var/session

Make sure your / var folder has proper permission.

When the captcha are created they are first stored in the var folder. Due to improper permission it will not be saved. This will return a NULL object, therefore, this error.
