Logo, trademark rights [closed]

-2

Well, many should think that here is not the place to post this, I thought it some time ago, but come on. I am a programmer, I make websites, and I have not yet participated in any copyright courses. I received a client that has a logo, but it gave me a JPEG logo, in fact the graphic did it this way by default, and they also passed some files in CDR format, PDF. I had to convert this CDR to SVG, so I could edit it in my Inkscape. Now here comes the question. As they designed the logo to have a white background and not to have a transparent background, I decided to edit this logo, now, if I edit this logo, may I be breaking any law? I changed the background of the world that was transparent to white, to be able to give a contrast at the time of inserting in the site, because the water was transparent and the earth with solid color.

Repeating, am I infringing any rights law?

Interesting your concern. Your question runs away from the objective of the site, because it is something about Brazilian legislation. Anyway, I'll give my opinion.

As the logo is your client's and you are providing a service for the same, I believe you would have no problems with copyright .

I am not a lawyer and this is the opinion of a mere programmer! :)
