I would like to add push notifications to my app, I would like someone to explain to me how this whole process would be since data enters a SQL Server database and my app receives this data via api json and does not have access to the database. p>

Look, your question is a bit difficult to understand, however, to do push notifications you can use OneSignal that has support for everything nowadays, Xcode, Android Studio, Unity etc.
