When I try to use SQL Server Management Studio 2008 I get this error:

Start the SQL service, go to Start menu - > enter services (or services), open a list of windows services, search the SQL SERVER service and start it.

Below an example image, this is not the sql service is just an example, but the process is the same.

Find the service (it will be written sql server on it), click it and on the left side click Start.
